In short
- Your screenshots, cards and notes are yours, and they stay on your phone.
- Memora is free to use. Pro is an optional subscription with a 7-day free trial, once per account. Lifetime is a one-time purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time and keep Pro until the paid period ends.
- Summaries and details are generated automatically and can be wrong, so double-check anything important.
- Please don’t misuse the service. We may suspend accounts or devices that do.
The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of Memora (“Memora”, “we”, “us”). They apply to the Memora app and to memorashelf.com. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and is part of these terms. By using Memora you accept them; if you don’t agree, please don’t use Memora.
Who can use Memora
You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s permission, and they accept these terms on your behalf. Buying Pro or Lifetime requires the legal capacity to make purchases, or a parent or guardian’s consent.
Your account
You can use Memora without an account. If you create one (with an email address, Apple or Google), keep your sign-in details safe and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, and the details you give us should be accurate.
Your content
Your screenshots, photos, cards, notes and links remain yours. They are stored on your phone, and Memora doesn’t claim any ownership of them.
When you use online look-ups, share a link to Memora or ask for recommendations, you give us permission to process the text and links your phone sends (as described in the Privacy Policy) only to provide those features to you. This permission ends when the request has been answered, except for cached results about public items, which contain nothing that identifies you.
Only save and share content you’re allowed to. You’re responsible for how you use the content you keep in Memora.
Your library lives on your device, so it goes wherever your phone and its backups go. If you delete the app or lose your phone without a backup, we can’t restore your cards.
Using Memora fairly
Please don’t:
- use Memora for anything illegal, or to violate other people’s rights;
- send automated or excessive requests to our servers, scrape them, or try to get around rate limits or plan limits;
- try to break or bypass our security, or access accounts or data that aren’t yours;
- copy, resell or sublicense Memora, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows;
- use Memora’s look-ups to process other people’s personal data unlawfully.
We may limit, suspend or end access for accounts or devices that break these rules or put the service or other people at risk.
Pro, trials and payments
Plans
Memora’s core features are free. Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly, that unlocks extra features such as Aura and recommendations. Lifetime unlocks the same features with a single payment. The price, billing period and any taxes are shown before you pay. Pro features may change over time as we improve them.
Free trial
Pro may come with a 7-day free trial, available once per account. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you’re charged for the first period.
Renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price then in effect, until you cancel. We’ll tell you in advance if the price of your subscription goes up, and you can cancel before it applies. To cancel, open Memora’s Settings and tap Manage on your plan; you can also switch plans or update your card there. When you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and you won’t be charged again.
Lifetime
Lifetime is a one-time payment that gives your account Pro features for as long as we offer Pro in Memora. It isn’t a subscription and doesn’t renew. If you buy Lifetime while subscribed to Pro, your subscription is set to end at the close of its current period.
Payments and refunds
Payments made through Memora’s checkout are processed by Stripe, and Stripe’s terms also apply to them. We never see your full card number. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments aren’t refundable and we don’t give credit for partial periods. If you think you were charged by mistake, email support@memorashelf.com within 30 days and we’ll look into it. Nothing in these terms limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer where you live.
Look-ups and AI results
Memora sorts screenshots and fills in details, summaries, categories and recommendations automatically, using on-device recognition, public catalogs and AI models. These results can be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong. They are there for convenience, not as professional advice, so please check anything important (such as dates, prices, addresses or health information) at its source.
Other apps and content
Memora links to, previews and works with content and services run by others, such as the apps you share from, map providers and online catalogs. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or practices; their own terms apply when you use them.
Our app and brand
Memora, its design, code, name and logo belong to us. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control for your own, non-commercial use, in line with these terms and the rules of the store you got it from. Feedback and suggestions you send may be used to improve Memora without any obligation to you.
App Store and Google Play
If you downloaded Memora from Apple’s App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Memora or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and isn’t responsible for claims relating to it (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims). Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where it conflicts with these terms in a way that gives you more protection, it prevails. If you downloaded Memora from Google Play, Google Play’s terms also apply. Purchases made through a store’s own billing follow that store’s rules for billing, cancellation and refunds.
Changes to Memora and these terms
Memora will keep changing: we may add, change or remove features. We may also update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Memora after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree with them, you can stop using Memora and delete your account.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Memora at any time, and delete your account from the app. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering Memora. If we stop offering Pro while you have an active subscription, we’ll refund the unused part of your current period. The cards on your phone remain yours either way.
Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Memora useful and reliable, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that it will always be available, error-free or secure, or that its results will be accurate, and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some places don’t allow these disclaimers, so they may not all apply to you.
Limits of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of Memora. Our total liability for any claim about Memora is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Memora’s developer is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can bring claims in its courts. Before starting a formal dispute, please email us so we can try to sort it out together.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a part of these terms right away, we haven’t given up the right to do so later.
